Moving house – One of the most stressful events in your life.

On the 19thof September I became the proud owner of a three bedroom house – An amazing achievement for me at the grand age of 28!

After finding my dream home and patiently waiting for weeks for all the surveys to come back and solicitors to check everything was A OK, I finally exchanged contracts, the mortgage was released and the house was all mine.

Then the fun part started – Packing up a two bedroom bungalow! Not such a hefty task, or so I thought. You ever start something and then slowly realise that you’ve kept so much stuff over the years for no reason at all. Well yes, that was me! Stuff I’d kept from when I first moved in, a whole 7 years ago and hadn’t used since. Needless to say I was ruthless with getting rid of it all – The charity shop loved me when I dropped off two cars full of stuff I no longer wanted and the clothes bank had all the clothes that I was keeping for when I ‘fitted back into them’

Box Jenga!

All hands on deck – my mum and colleagues at work were ordered to save every box they could from deliveries that came in, because is it even moving if everything you ever owned isn’t in a brown box. Packing with a 7year old was relatively fun, enter box towers and box jenga!

If there’s one thing that I’ve taken from everyone who has ever moved is to ‘Label the bloody boxes’ – Oh and yes they were right! Thank goodness I did because when it came to moving the entire contents of the old bungalow I knew exactly what boxes needed to go in each room.

So I’ve packed up the entire contents of the bungalow into brown boxes, right down to the last knife and fork – It was time to physically move! Enter the army of family members and my amazing boyfriend Joshua that helped me move to the new house. I should also mention that the day I moved out of the old place, my sister moved her things in the same day (Yes, we really are suckers for punishment!).

I’m currently feeling a lot of emotions, sad and anxious because I’ve moved out of the bungalow that I brought my new born baby girl home to, where she first learnt to crawl, walk and talk. Where the photos of the first days of school were taken and where she’s gown into an amazing little lady. There have also been numerous happy times, amazing memories made and at the same time numerous sad times in that little bungalow, people change and relationships break down. BUT – It’s time for a fresh start and a new chapter, it’s time to make new memories in this lovely new house and look towards the future.

Me and Lillie have moved in – There’s a lot of change coming over the next few weeks, which I will update you all with.
