The Girl Boss Club Launch Party -Old Havana

On the 21stof August, I attended the Girl Boss Club Launch party at the Old Havana, based just off Wind Street in the centre of Swansea. The fabulous Emily Fender created the Girl Boss Club in order to provide positive, encouraging and empowering support for females in business.

On arrival, I was welcomed with a scrumptious cocktail – The best I had tasted in forever! I also received an amazing warm welcome by Emily and the other women at the launch. Emily had gone all out to create an inviting area for everyone; this included a flower wall, which was great for photo opportunity. We even had gift bags; in these were vouchers from businesses that attended and a lovely little cookie (Which was very yummy!).

So many different businesses attended the Girl Boss Club launch, it was a very successful and eye opening network event, even though I don’t personally own a business myself, I was there to support the EMZZY Clothing Brand. It was wonderful to listen to other business women talk about their stories and experiences. Businesses ranged from beauty and graphic design to women builders and gardeners. It was great to see such a variety in the room – Just goes to show that, there really is no job a woman can’t do!

Emily gave a tremendous speech, it included how the Girl Boss Club came about, what her plans were for the future and when the next Girl Boss Club would meet. Emily is truly an inspirational woman that has helped me believe that anything is possible and no dream is unreachable. I will definitely be taking everything I’ve learnt from this event and putting it into practise. I will also be attending the next Girl Boss Club session, which will be held in BrewStone, Uplands on Wednesday 25thSeptember at 18:30
